Control Initial Osteotomy Depth
A 65-year-old woman will return to have an implant placed at the site of #15 a few years after that at #19 (Fig.1). Clinically there is limited vertical clearance and the ridge is narrow. These 2 problems will be handled with placement of the implant deep and use of bone expanders, respectively. To protect the sinus membrane, the initial osteotomy depth is going to be 10 mm (9-1+2 mm, Fig.2) with an increase of 1 mm in depth with each of the bone expanders. Take PA with the initial drill. Prepare IBS implant and the one used last time for the patient, including healing and restorative abutments.
