Long Implant For Stability

A 59-year-old man will return for #31 implant placement following #13 and 15 ones.  Since the bone density in the original socket seems to be low, start osteotomy with 1.2 mm drill (flapless), followed by DIO bone expanders as deep as possible.  When initial intraop PA is taken, measure the thickness of the gingiva.  Since the implants on the left side were placed recently and the tooth #2 is supraerupted (arrow), achieving high stability at #31 is priority.  A long implant is an easy choice.  Prepare 18 mm drills.  Take BW to confirm that the implant is placed subcrestally, if necessary.  A healing abutment is most likely placed to reduce postop micro-movement.
