A 72-year-old man will return for #31 immediate implant several months after that at #21 (Fig.1). After extraction (no Antibiotic), the gingiva between the mesial and distal socket is to be separated from the underlying septum. The latter will be used as a reliable landmark for osteotomy with drill stopper.
The ridge in the edentulous area is narrow. The existing partial denture will be used to check osteotomy position and trajectory during implant placement. After implant osteointegration, a crown will be fabricated to retrofit the partial. If the latter does not work, a new partial will be fabricated.
