Implant to be Place in Tripod Septum
A 40-year-old man will return to clinic for #19 implant placement, probably due to crown fracture (Fig.1 (CT sagittal section) >: open margin of PFM crown). In fact implants have been placed at #20 and 21. After extraction of #19 and socket debridement without antibiotic, a 5x12 mm implant is to be placed in the tripod septum (Fig.2 (coronal section; L: lingual),3 ((axial section) M: mesial; DB: distobuccal; DL: distolingual (root)). An abutment with the largest diameter (7.8 mm) will be chosen to close the socket as much as possible (Fig.1 pink). Bone density is high (600-900 U). Drills will be used for osteotomy. The initial depth is 12 mm with stop on the septal crest. Take photos preop to show residual roots.
