Map of Bone Density Around the Deciduous Canine

The upper right deciduous canine (Fig.1,2: C) fractures due to caries (Fig.2 *) 1 year after CBCT was taken.  Its succedaneus tooth (#6) is distally ectopic.  It is reasonably assumed that the bone around the deciduous root is low.  In fact the bone density immediately next to the root is 700 U(nits), whereas that in the remaining area is -20 to 200 U (Fig.2).  The apical buccal area where the apical end of the implant should be placed (Fig.3) is high again (Fig.2).  Due to this special bone density map, the apical end of the implant may be shift palatally (Fig.4 red arrow).  Control the trajectory while doing osteotomy and implant placement.
