Crestal Cortical Bone Formation Post Socket Preservation
CBCT shows thin cortical bone formation mesiodistally 6.5 months post socket preservation with allograft with PRF at #31 (Fig.3 ^, as compared to Fig.1). The socket appears to be closing buccolingually 10 months postop (Fig.6 arrowheads, as compared to Fig.4). Bone density increases from 1100 units to 1,200-1,400 units 6.5 to 10 months. With underprep (4 mm), a 5x10 mm implant is placed with ~ 50 Ncm with guide (Fig.7). Following a 5.5 mm profile drill, a 5.5x3 mm healing abutment is placed (Fig.8); the implant plateau appears to be supported by the graft bone (*). The implant remains subcrestal 4 months postop (Fig.9).
