Before Fabrication of RPDs
A 50-year-old woman (dentophobic, smoker, 1/3 pack per day) has chronic periodontitis with terminal dentition (Fig.1). Provisional RPDs are 5 years old. Before fabricating permanent RPDs, nonsalvageable teeth, for example #22, should be extracted and replaced with an implant with ball abutment (Fig.2). Because of fear and finance, one implant will be placed each time.
