The mesial (M) ridge is narrow since the residual root has exfoliated.  The distal ridge atrophy is less severe as the residual root is being expelled.  After extraction of the distal residual root, osteotomy will be initiated in the distal socket as mesial as possible.  Since the ridge is apparently lower buccally, the implant is expected to be moderate in diameter and as low as the buccal crest.
