GEM21S to Repair Distal Defect (I)
A 59-year-old man returns from endo-dontist office with diagnosis of "root fracture" of #19 (Fig.1). The distal pockets are 5 mm deep with tender-ness, associated with bone loss (Fig.2 *). Imme-diately post immediate implant placement, PRF or GEM21S mixed with cortical allograft will be used for bone regeneration. Prior to bone graft, place an abutment, take a PA and make sure that the abutments at #18 and 19 are completely seated. Reseat or trim the crestal bone if needed. Prepare bleach gauze. PRF will be used for sticky bone, which is more retentive than allograft hydrated with GEM21S.
