Ridge Reduction and BEB
A 53-year-old woman has lost the teeth #18 and 19. Since the tooth #15 is more severely supraerupted than #14 and she is not willing to have orthodontic intrusion, an implant will be placed at #19 (Fig.1). The ridge is pointed and long (Fig.3 coronal section of CT). Ridge reduction will be done (Fig.2,4 black area; using surgical bur and saw and chisels) prior to use of Magic Split and 1.6 mm drill (Fig.5 black long arrow). Alternate Magic Expanders and 1.6 mm drill so that the buccal (B) and lingual bone plates may be expanded (Fig.6 arrows). A 4 or 4.5x11 or 13 mm FC implant will be placed. If #30 periimplantitis is severe, remove the implant with a new one.
