Magicore or 1-Piece Implant
A 65-year-old woman will return for implant placement at #19 pontic area (Fig.1) nearly 3 months post implant placement at #20 (Fig.2). Since the edentulism should be long standing, the ridge must be narrow buccolingually. On the other hand, the ridge is long coronoapically (Fig.2). Ridge reduction will be conducted. If the width can be gained for 5 mm with less than 3 mm height reduction, a 4x7(3) mm Magicore will be placed. Otherwise a long 1-piece implant is to be chosen. The narrow implant (3 or 4 mm) is justifiable because of relatively small mesiodistal space at the pontic. Prepare implant positioners of 3 and 4 mm.
