Thin Septum
A 43-year-old man has residual roots at #30 (Fig.1). The mesial (M) and distal (D) roots approximates each other so close that the septum is thin (Fig.1,3-5). The latter is unfavorable for osteotomy. After extraction (Fig.5), the middle of the septum (Fig.8a (axial section of the sockets)) will be sectioned (Fig.6, 8b,c) prior to initial osteotomy (Fig.7,8d). The depth of the latter will be ~ 5 mm (Fig.2 red line) for a 13 mm (pink line) IBS implant.
