Immediate Implant in Mesial Socket

A 49-year-old man agrees to have #19 extracted for implant, 2 years 7 months and 2 years 10 months post cementation at #2 and 31, respectively (Fig.1).  Because of severe bone loss in the distal socket of #19, a 4.5x10 mm implant will be placed in the mesial one (Fig.2).  To reduce the chance of blockage of blood supply to the tooth #20 (Fig.3 red curved line), the implant will be not placed deep.  After osteotomy with guide, a 1.5 mm longer implant will be chosen if there is extra coronal bone as shown in Fig.3 (3D image (white line)).
