Bone Expansion through Guide

A 53-year-old woman requests implant at #19 after redo #14 crown.  The ridge is narrow (holding a 3.5x11.5 mm implant) and apparently low in density (Fig.1).  Bone expansion seems necessary.  Following use of 2.2 mm drill to the depth, bone expanders will be introduced (1.7/3.1 and 2.4/3.7 mm).  After 4.0 mm cortical tap, a 4.0x11.5 mm implant is placed.  If torque is high, use 3.5 mm drill.  Postop 5x5 cm CT will be taken.  Also take pre- and post-op photos of the buccal plate.  Prepare surgical handpiece and a new thin fissure bur for ridge split as well as split saw block.  Use a UF implant, in consistent with that at #11.
