Strict Sterile Procedure
A 66-year-old man has moderate to severe chronic periodontitis. After scaling & root planing, he will return for #2 and 13 residual root removal (Fig.1,2). The latter will be done in the traditional non-sterile manner except Chlorhexidine mouth rinse and Iodine application as usual. After curettage with serrated curette, irrigation and 2x2 gauze, all of used instruments will be sent to sterilization room. A set of new instruments will be used with sterile towel spreading and sterile gloves. The strict sterile procedure is applied to sinus lift to prevent infection as this case, since the bone height is limited (Fig.2 IS). PRF and sticky bone will be carried out as well. Antibiotic Study will be terminated from now on. Take 12x9 preop CT after discussion. Prepare DIO Sinus Kit.
